Design 1061 – 110’ Ketch

Fontaine Design Group was approached by a second owner of a Hinckley 70 pilothouse design, (the first being the owner of the Fontaine designed Hodgdon built WINDCREST) to develop a state of the art yet traditionally inspired ketch with proven sailing performance. The goal was to match aesthetics with sea worthiness, speed with responsiveness and quality with acclamations thereby creating a well-balanced proven sailing machine.

The hull form is a refinement of the highly successful shallow draft performance underbody of the successful “Bucket” winning S/Y WHISPER  and S/Y WINDCREST both have proven to be fast in ocean races as well as around the buoy races against yachts of similar size and purpose. This new 110’ shallow draft design includes a dagger board rudder board for better performance in offshore conditions.

She will be ketch rigged with high modulus carbon fiber spars, in-boom furling and carbon standing rigging. The preference for the ketch rig is born of the owner's love of being able to balance the rig with a split sail plan and the potential to steer the boat using the sails. There are twin wheels with a helm station and a mid cockpit similar to S/Y WHISPER and WINDCREST.

The interior arrangement has the emphasis placed on family and friends’ time onboard being in a comfortable and social atmosphere. Designed with that prerequisite in mind, the main salon is fitted with formal dining to starboard with the lounging area and television to port. The yacht also includes informal dining area and bar in the pilothouse.

There are three staterooms including an owner's cabin with the head and walk-in closet aft to maximize floor space, a "VIP" guest cabin with a queen-size berth and a twin berth cabin, which can convert to a queen berth, to sleep a total of six guests. There is a sizeable galley to starboard with two separate refrigerators, a walk-in pantry housing red and white wine coolers and a washer and dryer.
