Tenacious (ex. Teel), 115' Pilothouse Sloop, "Most Innovative Sailing Yacht", The Showboats Award, 1995
Tenacious was launched in 1995 (ex. Teel). Her lines are drawn by renowned yacht designer Ted Fontaine. She has the revolutionary design whale bottom, which is a deep hull form that utilizes large deadrise angles to create room for low internal ballast. The two centreboards provide the necessary lift for upwind sailing. This arrangement creates a very large boat that has an extremely shoal draft for her size. Tenacious was styled by Andrew Winch and Ted Fontaine with Interior design by David Easton, this team put together an immaculate yacht.
The hull was built out of composite. The sailing yacht superstructure component is fabricated mostly using composite. With a width of 8.41 m / 27.6 feet TENACIOUS has fairly large size. She has a reasonably 6.07 (19.9 ft) draught of 6.07m (19.9ft). She had refit improvement and changes completed by 2007. She can attain a top speed of 14 knots.
